Sips of water are encouraged during workouts. This is to make sure that dehydration will not occur and muscles will not be overstressed allowing it to recover easily. Lifting heavy weights will definitely shape up your muscles. The heavier the weights, the greater are the stress, thus of course, bigger and more muscles.
